Overview

Like all buildings in Colorado, Sears could not afford to sacrifice roof performance in winter temperatures and snowy conditions. Their outlet center in Englewood, CO houses hundreds of appliances, furnishings, consumer goods, and other inventory that could sustain irretrievable damage if the roof were to leak or fail.

The Project

When Sears needed a roof repair solution that could be successfully applied even in the middle of winter they turned to V2T Roof System.

The project required both repair and replacement. The section of the roof that was ideal for V2T was 88,820 square feet. Since V2T does not require adhesives or fasteners, winter did not impair installation.

The entire project was a tear off and replacement over a light-weight concrete deck. The installation needed two layers of 2.0” ISO board loose laid with a 1/2” dens deck cover board loose laid over the concrete deck. Carlisle’s 60 mil TPO was rolled out and secured with V2T vents; no screws, no glue. In these weather conditions this would be difficult or impossible with conventional roofing. Saratoga was able to continue the tear-off and replacement with no difficulty. The installation was completed with V2T in less time even in less than favorable conditions.

Key Players

In general we believe that the V2T Vent Technology has a significant advantage in performance, installation, monitoring, environmental stewardship and cost than any other system on the market. To date, we have millions of square feet of roof in all climates that is providing these benefits to contractors, building owners, and manufacturers across the country.
